* The CCS Business Insurance Checkup is offered only to prospective clients.  A comprehensive business survey, in-depth business insurance policy analysis, and unlimited loss control consultation are included in annual contracts with our Risk Management clients.

Why does my company need a Business Insurance Checkup?

Today, most commercial insurance agents will tell you they have little time to spend on coverage details.  The high costs of running an agency, combined with small premium commissions, simply don't allow it!  Agents have to keep selling, or they're out of business!  

This means your agent has little time to learn about your business, ask you about needed coverage or carefully review your policies for errors.  The result:  if you haven't had the time to read your business insurance policies and don't have the skill to find errors in your coverage, then no one has reviewed this most complicated contract used in your business!  Yet, every day you are trusting these words to protect your company from failing if you have a serious loss!

We realize that this situation may seem hard to believe.  Yet, in 15 years of helping small and mid-sized businesses, we have reviewed over 400 client business insurance programs and found only two that had no mistakes!  In most cases, there were multiple errors and at least one mistake in each policy set was serious enough to cause the failure of the company had a loss occurred in this area!  We believe that is more than ample justification for a Checkup and can predict with assurance that you will be thankful you decided on this quick, easy and inexpensive process!

The simple, honest answer is "No".  Depending on the size and complexity of your business, the CCS Business Insurance Checkup is designed to take up only one to three hours of your time, at one meeting.  This abbreviated review of your operations and business insurance program will find many of the errors in your policies, provide you with some excellent suggestions for saving premium dollars and offer you opportunity to consider the importance of coverage that is not currently part of your policy program.  However, due to the complexity of business insurance, and the many facets of most business operations, our annual Risk Management contract provides the only method for us to assure you that our work is both comprehensive and thorough.

Checkup cost?

The consulting fees for our Business Insurance Checkup vary depending on the size of your business.  The fee range is usually between $100 and $600 and includes both pre-meeting review and preparation, as well as our on-site policy review and consultation.

We realize that few small and mid-sized businesses have ever considered the cost-saving advantages of hiring a Risk Manager or Insurance Consultant.  Yet, this is usually recommendation number one from both finance and insurance industry independent experts!  Large corporations most always heed this advice, however, smaller companies often feel they can do without the added expense.

We could write web page after web page trying to convince you of our expertise, the cost-saving advantages of our help and the assurance of much better protection, but we know that will be more likely to consider our help, if you see the process in action!

We are confident that our Business Insurance Checkup will be a "win-win" process for both of us!  You'll gain invaluable insight and added protection, and we'll have a chance to demonstrate our skills and invite you to consider our cost-effective Risk Management services. 

In all honesty, we can help you best by working for you for at least a year.  However, there will never be any sales pressure during our Checkup meeting, nor will there be any implied future obligation for either of us.  We are confident that the work you witness in our Business Insurance Checkup will "speak for itself"!

Up to 60 days after our Checkup, if you do decide to take advantage of our annual Risk Management services, we'll apply the entire fee you paid for your Business Insurance Checkup as a discount on your first year!

Here's a step-by-step list of what you can expect:.

  • After we receive a call or email from you indicating your interest in the Business Insurance Checkup, we'll contact you by phone to discuss the Checkup fee and set an appointment that is usually a couple of weeks away.  This will give you time to get your insurance policies together and provide us the time necessary to review materials you send us.

  • After the appointment is set, we will send you a (1) brief list of questions about your business, (2) a list of insurance policies and related information to collect for our meeting and (3) a short contract that will establish the temporary business relationship required for our meeting.

  • After receiving your signed contract, consulting fee and completed brief survey of your business, we may call you to address any initial questions raised by our review of your survey.  If you want, you can even skip the written part of our brief survey and just take a few minutes to tell us about your business operations over the phone!

  • At our meeting, we will first address any concerns or questions you have about your property & casualty insurance program.

  • Next, with your approval, we will allow you to get some work done while we take time to become familiar with your policies and complete an initial review.  
    .
  • Once this initial review is completed, we will be ready to meet with you to share concerns about your coverage, make recommendations for changes and give you some insight on considerations of coverages that may be missing from your program.  We can also help you to understand coverages that are confusing, show you methods for making policy changes more safely, provide you with valuable information on handling premium audits and point out the best way to start or further develop a safety program.

  • Finally, we'll answer any remaining questions you have about our recommendations from our Checkup!
